AQA Business - Improving Organisational Design and Human Resource Flow

The presentation begins with a look at job design and some of the main influences that act upon it. It specifically considers the work of Hackman and Oldham and analyses their job design model. Next, the presentation critically examines some of the main influences acting upon organisational design and this includes decisions relating to authority, span of control, hierarchy, delegation, centralisation and decentralisation. After a consideration of the value of changing job and organisational design, the presentation concludes with an examination of how managing the human resource flow helps meet human resource objectives. Specifically there is an assessment of human resource planning, recruitment, training, redeployment and redundancy.
