AQA Business - Problems with Strategy and Why Strategies Fail
A new range of materials aimed at supporting teachers of the AQA A Level in Business. This presentation is designed to cover the topic of problems with strategy and why strategies sometimes fail and has been adapted to meet the specific requirements of the AQA specification. The presentation considers the difficulties of strategic decision making and implementing strategy. It examines the key differences between planned and emergent strategies and considers some of the main reasons for strategic drift. It then analyses the impact of the divorce between ownership and control (including corporate governance), before evaluating a firm’s strategic performance. The resource concludes with an assessment of the overall value of strategic planning and the benefits of contingency planning. The pack contains the Quick Fire Five knowledge questions, a short objective test and an essay question all complete with suggested answers.
