Stakeholder Showdown – GCSE Business Classroom Activity
Bring stakeholder theory to life with this engaging, ready-to-use classroom activity.
Students take on the roles of different stakeholder groups and debate whether the fictional Riverside Festival should expand from 5,000 to 12,000 visitors.
They must consider competing objectives, levels of influence, stakeholder conflict and the likely impact of different business decisions before reaching a justified final recommendation.
The activity includes stakeholder role cards for festival organisers, local residents, local businesses, employees, customers, the local council, an environmental pressure group and emergency services.
Students then complete a stakeholder influence matrix, build their arguments and respond to new information before deciding whether the festival should expand as planned, expand with conditions or remain at its current size.
Included in this 6-page PDF:
- Festival expansion scenario and decision task
- Eight stakeholder role cards
- Stakeholder influence matrix
